DENVER (October 27, 2024) — The Mortgage Bankers Association today announced at its 2024 Annual Convention & Expo that Roxi-Ann Williams has been recognized as the inaugural David H. Stevens Real Estate Legacy Scholarship award winner.

The award is named for David (Dave) H. Stevens, the former MBA President and CEO, and commemorates his legacy to foster a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable real estate finance industry. It recognizes diverse students from MBA’s Commercial Real Estate Finance (CREF) Fellowship Program and HomeFree USA’s Center for Financial Advancement (CFA) Program who have shown career aspirations in the real estate finance industry.

“Roxi-Ann’s academic excellence, work experience, on-campus involvement, and leadership attributes make her an outstanding choice to be recognized as the inaugural David H. Stevens Real Estate Legacy Scholarship Award winner,” said Laura Escobar, 2025 MBA Chair and President of Lennar Mortgage. “The establishment of this prestigious award will give many opportunities to well-deserved students who are looking to begin and expand their career in real estate finance.”

Roxi-Ann Williams is a senior at Benedict College, majoring in finance. She currently serves as the president of her school's National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) chapter and is a 2024-2025 White House Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Scholar, the Vice President of Delta Mu Delta Business Society, and an Ambassador with HomeFree-USA’s CFA Program.

The award will be presented onsite annually at MBA’s Annual Convention in October and at MBA’s Commercial/Multifamily Finance Convention and Expo in February 2025.
