Affordable Housing Advisory Councils

The Affordable Rental Housing Advisory Council and the Affordable Homeownership Advisory Council (Councils) and the Consumer Affairs Advisory Council (CAAC) represent a diverse representative cross-section of business models, company sizes, and ownership structures in affordable housing/lending. The CAAC also includes organizations that represent the consumer and civil rights communities. The Councils were established in 2019 to support MBA’s Affordable Housing Initiative and affordable housing policy efforts in the form of advice, feedback, and ideas on: 

• Strategic Priorities: Areas where MBA should focus its time/resources to be impactful
• Innovation: New approaches being proposed/explored in the marketplace
• Data & Research: Areas where additional data/research would be helpful to industry members
• Partnerships: Potential partnerships and/or areas for collaboration
• Policy: Affordable housing policy proposals and priorities
• Tactical Execution: Affordable lending practices that are/aren’t working, and ideas for improvements.
