The Education Networking Group (ENG) brings together industry professionals from both Commercial/Multifamily and Single-Family member companies who oversee or have a hand in employee learning and development. Discussions will center around best-practices in training and development, tools and technology that can help drive your training initiatives forward, and ways to think about budgeting and resourcing your professional development efforts.

Elizabeth Miller
Elizabeth Miller, AVP National Training, DHI Mortgage Company
Elizabeth got her start in financial services in the credit industry, with nearly 15 years in sales and leadership over the Central Florida market. In her time with Credit Data Services and Experian, she honed her technical and communication skills and discovered the power of education in reaching business objectives.

 During the economic downturn, Elizabeth moved to Austin, TX and took the opportunity to focus on her own education and shift her career focus. In 6 years, she attended Austin Community College, University of Texas at Austin, and Texas State University. She taught a range of topics from Excel to Human Communication and earned 5 degrees, culminating in a Master of Arts in Training & Development.

Elizabeth is now the Assistant Vice President of National Training with DHI Mortgage, the lending arm of D.R. Horton, America’s #1 Builder. Combining her business acumen and higher education specialization, she leads her team in delivering best-in-class training, such as new hire orientation, origination and processing systems, mortgage mastery for recent college grads, sales and communication, advanced leadership skills, and loan product launches.
Malik Wilkes
Malik Wilkes, CMB, AMP, Express Mortgage Manager, Space Coast Credit Union
Malik Wilkes is a Certified Mortgage Banker with 13 years of experience in the mortgage industry. As the Manager of the Origination Department at Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU), the 3rd largest credit union in Florida, Malik leads a team committed to helping members achieve their homeownership goals. Before stepping into this management role, Malik was responsible for loan officer training across SCCU’s South Florida region and played a key role in implementing e-learning tools during the COVID-19 pandemic. A passionate advocate for the growth of the mortgage industry, Malik also serves as Vice President of the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America (NAMMBA) South Florida chapter. He was also a guest on the Chrisman Commentary Podcast, where he discussed credit unions' focus on mortgage lending. Malik is a proud member of the Florida International University Alumni Association Board of Directors. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with family, staying active, and exploring new restaurants. He is married with a 16-year-old stepdaughter and a 1-year-old son.

Commercial/Multifamily Education Networking Group Co-Chairs:

Lindsay Minch, Vice President, Senior Learning & Development Lead, PNC, Midland Loan Services
Based out of Cleveland, Ohio, Lindsay has worked at PNC for 15 years with a multidisciplinary focus including Marketing, Communications, Operations, Strategy & Planning, Business Experience and Human Resources, specifically Learning and Development and Leadership Development. She is passionate about creating and enabling great experiences for employees, clients and internal partners. Lindsay has been recognized for her ability to strategically collaborate across teams and build innovative learning experiences that drive engagement.
Jan Sternin, Senior Vice President, Berkadia
Jan Sternin is responsible for business development across the servicing platform as well as industry relations. Prior to joining Berkadia, she was responsible for business development, marketing and communications for Situs. Additionally, Ms. Sternin previously served as Senior Vice President of Commercial and Multifamily for the Mortgage Bankers Association and CEO of MISMO, the MBA technology initiative for creating uniform data standards for the real estate finance community. 

Get Involved

The goal of each committee is to come together 4-5 times per year, through a mix of in-person and online meetings. In addition, the committee will leverage MBA’s Community platform to collaborate and post relevant information in between meetings.
