Justin Wiseman is Vice President and Managing Regulatory Counsel in the Public Policy and Industry Relations department at the Mortgage Bankers Association. Justin manages MBA’s Regulatory Policy team that covers legal issues, trends in litigation, regulatory compliance matters, and servicing as well as provides strategic direction to advance MBA member priorities on regulatory and legal matters. This team also analyzes pending rules and legislation, provides comments on behalf of MBA members on pending rules or regulations and helps develops MBA’s posture towards innovation and innovation policy. Prior to this, he staffed MBA’s Loan Administration committee, providing policy development insights and working with stakeholders to advocate on behalf of the industry.

Simon Fleischmann is Deputy Chair of Locke Lord’s national Financial Services Litigation Practice Group. He advises banks and non-bank financial services providers in complex litigation and regulatory enforcement matters across the country. He has tried jury and non-jury cases, argued in federal and state courts of appeal, and effectively responded to investigations by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Illinois Attorney General. Most of the matters Fleischmann handles involve consumer-related operations, such as loan origination and modification practices, payment application procedures, website accessibility, online payment fees, collateral preservation procedures, default servicing procedures, debt collection, outbound calling practices and related technology.

Loren Coe is a member with Severson and Werson and part of the Firm’s Financial Services practice group. Loren specializes in defending complex individual consumer and class action claims relating to the Mortgage Banking industry, including claims brought under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA; and California’s Rosenthal FDCPA), the California Homeowners Bill of Rights (HBOR), and various unfair competition/UDAP laws, as well as claims involving tradition real property disputes, fraud and other torts. Loren also regularly represents banks and auto finance companies in consumer finance litigation brought under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and other consumer protection statutes. Loren is a regular contributor to the MBA and California MBA, and he has authored multiple “Mortgage Servicing Compliance 101” courses for the mortgage banking industry. He enjoys counseling clients on regulatory issues and how to implement appropriate policies and procedures to minimize risk.
Beverly Weber is a partner at Armstrong Teasdale with more than 20 years of experience handling contentious legal matters at both the trial and appellate levels in state and federal court. Her work often involves banking, real estate, consumer lending, creditors’ rights, insurance defense, probate litigation, commercial loan transactions and business law. She is active in the professional and civic communities and has earned a number of accolades throughout her career. Bev is a two-time Missouri Lawyers Weekly Women's Justice Award winner, recognized among the Kansas City Business Journal’s Best of the Bar and Women Who Mean Business, a recipient of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City President’s Award, and a member of the 2023 Class of Leadership Kansas
