Jerra H. Ryan is well-versed in all areas of residential loan production. She led $250 million in annual production as a producing branch manager and top-ranked originator before moving her unique fusion of experience as a sales leader and consumer educator to her roles developing and enabling compliance. Jerra advocates for what we can do in mortgage compliance and production and as a senior leader, consultant, speaker, and instructor, she works to raise the compliance IQ and fluency of mortgage professionals.
Ms. Shuck has dedicated most of her career to the mortgage banking industry, with expertise in the areas of risk management, quality, corporate operations, and internal audit in both publicly traded and privately owned organizations. Ms. Shuck has been in charge of the Risk Management Division for Freedom Mortgage Corporation for the last seventeen years. Throughout her career, Ms. Shuck has promoted best practices in all aspects of mortgage banking and corporate operations, specializing in regulatory, operational, and credit risk, including quality control and ensuring effective, compliant, and sound control environments. She holds both a B.S. and MBA in Business Administration, majoring Finance. She is a graduate of both MBA’s School of Mortgage Banking and Future Leaders Program.

Sheila Klostermann leads the Quality Assurance team at Enact Mortgage Insurance (formerly Genworth). She has over 25 years of experience in mortgage lending in both the mortgage insurance and correspondent lending arenas. Klostermann has held various positions ranging from underwriting and third-party risk management to quality assurance. She has an MBA from DePaul University and is a Certified Mortgage Banker.
Tara Pettersen has over twenty-five years of mortgage banking experience holding numerous roles in Operations, Compliance, and Risk. She joined CMG in 2014 and is currently Chief Risk and Compliance Office. As CRCO, Tara oversees Compliance, Licensing, Quality Control, Retail Partnerships, Vendor Management, Fraud, External Exam, Audits and Due Diligence.
Sean Sowards is Fannie Mae’s Senior Director of Mortgage Fraud Investigations, reporting to the Vice President, Financial Crimes. Sowards is responsible for overseeing operations of Fannie Mae’s mortgage fraud program and ensuring compliance with Bank Secrecy Act laws and regulations. He also serves as Fannie Mae’s liaison with industry, regulatory, and law enforcement partners with respect to mortgage fraud matters. Before assuming his position with Fannie Mae, Sowards served 25 years in federal law enforcement, retiring in 2017 as the Director of Field Operations for the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service. Prior to joining the IRS, he was a Special Agent with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Inspector General. He has a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Virginia and is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
