Steven R. Plaisance

As Gateway First Bank’s President of Mortgage Banking, Steven Plaisance uses his extensive experience and leadership to align all things mortgage, including retail, correspondent, operations, secondary and servicing, under one umbrella. He is also a key part of the Executive leadership team at Gateway and will help define and set the course for bank activities across all spectrums. Prior to joining Gateway, Steven worked at Arvest Bank. He had been there since 1989, when he started as a teller and worked in various roles, including processing, secondary, operations, and most recently, as President and CEO of Arvest Bank’s mortgage banking division for the past six years. He was President and COO for three years prior to taking on the CEO role as well. Steven currently serves and previously served on a number of advisory boards for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He is also very active in leadership roles with the Mortgage Bankers Association. Steven will serve as the 2021-22 Chairman of the MBA’s Mortgage Action Alliance, its grassroots lobbying effort. Steven graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from the University of Arkansas and has attended Executive Management programming at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
