The Residential Loan Servicing Laws course provides an overview of regulatory compliance in residential mortgage loan servicing, introducing the key laws that regulate the business and providing context for why each of the laws is important. This course covers the purpose and provisions of the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Homeowners Protection Act (HPA), the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA), the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), as they affect loan servicing.

For each of the main laws, the course provides a quick overview of essential facts about the law, including a brief statement of its purpose, its implementing regulation, and its primary regulator; a discussion of its history and background; and an explanation of its main provisions. While this course is intended to serve as an introduction, resources for further reading are provided for a more in-depth learning experience.
