Streamlined property valuation and reporting processes are available in Fannie Mae’s automated Desktop Underwriter (DU) system. DU allows lenders to take advantage of property valuation and reporting features that can ultimately save time and money. DU’s proprietary risk assessment models provide feedback on the appropriate level of fieldwork required to perform collateral evaluation, including situations in which the appraisal might be waived altogether.

Property Valuation and Reporting Using Desktop Underwriter explores the property valuation and reporting processes available in DU. The course begins with methods of identifying valid appraisal reports and validating property data requirements. Next, it explains the required exhibits for DU appraisals. The course concludes by summarizing condominium and planned unit development (PUD) project types and review requirements.
