LEGAL ETHICS: All the President’s Men – An Examination of the Ethical Duties and Boundaries of Attorneys

Saturday, May 17, 2025 9:15 AM-11:15 AM

There are ethical lines that attorneys cannot cross in representing clients, but the lines have not always been clear. After a series of disbarments and criminal convictions of attorneys serving in presidential administrations, and various actions against attorneys in corporate America, the ethical lines are brighter. This session explores the duties attorneys owe to their clients and the public, and whether the ethical boundaries permit or prevent certain actions. Rules governing professional conduct, the responsibilities of lawyers in upholding the law, protecting public interest, and the consequences of attorneys’ actions (or inactions) are discussed.
