Pete Mills is Senior Vice President of Residential Policy and Member Engagement at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). In this position, he leads MBA's residential policy team and state and local advocacy program, and directs MBA's residential member engagement efforts across the MBA value platform. Mills is an experienced financial services industry executive with more than 30 years of expertise in public affairs, government relations, public policy and research, all in the housing and mortgage finance arena. Prior to joining MBA, he served as Managing Director and co-founder of the Community Mortgage Banking Project, a public policy organization that represented the interests of companies and coalitions involved in the housing and mortgage finance industries. During his career, Mills lead corporate public affairs for Countrywide Financial, managed trade association policy advocacy for the California Mortgage Bankers Association and the California Association of Realtors, and conducted housing policy research at the Federal Reserve Board. He has a BA in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated with distinction in 1982.

His diverse experience, beginning as an originator and evolving into a business operator, combined with an MBA from Georgetown University, provides him with a unique perspective on the interconnectedness of the mortgage lifecycle. This enables him to focus on deploying an integrated, cross-functional strategy and fostering change with greater effectiveness. Paul is known for his ability to align advanced technologies with business objectives, consistently delivering data-driven solutions that enhance customer experiences, increase productivity, create competitive advantages, and expand market share. He leads his teams with passion and a deep commitment to fostering collaboration, consistent execution, and operational excellence.
Courtney Thompson, EVP Head of Servicing at CMG Financial, has over 20 years of experience in high-risk regulatory solution management, operations, innovation, and human-first strategies. Passionate about bringing the consumer to the forefront of converged mortgage universe through the delivery of meaningful, connected, efficient solutions, she has held executive roles in technology, fintech, consulting and servicing operations. Committed to the fact that “there’s got to be a better way,” Courtney is leading by example with CMG’s new servicing strategy. She has a real knack for deploying innovation in legacy processes.
